I am a full time employee, full time husband, full time dad, full time gardener and handyman (ok my wife is laughing hysterically about that as I am not remotely handy although I do mow the lawn albeit I do need “reminding” that it needs to be done) full time too busy is basically where I am going with this. Each night you get home and there is lots to do. It all becomes so consuming it is easy to lose sight of the need for a time out.
Recently my wife and I spent a magical weekend away with no children around. We went to a lovely restaurant, went to the Art Gallery (so refined and adult for entertainment) wandered through markets and indulgently had lunch at a wine bar for no reason other than we could. It was a refreshing opportunity for the two of us to just enjoy each others company. I can’t remember the last time we did this (maybe before we had children?) but I do know that we had a great time and came home refreshed.
With all we have to do it is easy to forget “us time” but it is too important to any relationship to ignore. So why don’t you take off on a spontaneous getaway?
You will both love it for sure!
